Ok, so you know those Public Service Announcements (PSAs) that America produces now and then?

One of the best known is "This is your brain on heroin..." starring a hot young Rachel Leigh Cook, who looks like she's snor... yeah. Long short, the moral of the commercial? You snort or shoot heroin once, and your brain and body turn into a puddle of ooze.. a puddle of ooze that destroys your entire family.  NBC's "The Office" has given us wonderful parodies of these, unfortunately this doesn't include BJ Novak's.

It's well known, generally speaking, that gov't sponsered PSAs are just annoying at best.  You know they're bad when the Onion's fake news is all too real (give me a little longer, I'm going somewhere with this!).

I did find this "SA"Don't speed, pay attention while driving, etc. etc." PSA, it's actually not bad. If I were 12 it'd shake me.  Funny enough, it reminds me of the stunning Sony BRAVIA commercial, music courtesy of <font size="2">José González</font>.  

Canada SA"gets PSAs a little better... or not...  This commercial really freaked me out... like a slack jawed, shuddery "WTFUCK was THAT?!"  SA"It's other domestic abuse PSA isn't as bad.

Ok, finally, the point.  Apparently one country can do PSAs beyond right,  but downright amazingly. I have watched it almost 10 times today.  The animation is stunning, and the message is appropriate.

Set to Sugar Love Baby.  There is a second one too, for heterosexuals.  The first is better, IMHO, but meh.

Anyway...  The message: You have have wild, rampant sex when you're young, but it ultimately unfufilling and empty, even when your feelings are genuine.  So wear a condom, keep clean, until you find the one who's right for you.  While the relationships end poorly, the person is never 'punished' or worth less because they made mistakes. Why aren't they punished? Oh right, because they used a condom.

My respect for the French has increased to about 6%, up nearly 10%!
